All That Glitters make up tutorial

Hey Chic Geeks,

Today we have for you another makeup tutorial! We have both recently been loving the All That Glitters eye shadow as you may have seen in our June favourites post, so we decided to do a summer make up look with a bit of colour. Tutorial:

We started off by using the Rimmel match perfection concealer on the under eyes and any break outs you may have. Also adding some stay matte powder to insure the makeup stays on.

We then went ahead and added All That Glitters eye shadow from Mac all over the lid.

 

Then we took a dark brown matte eye shadow from the entice palette adding it to the crease of the eye making sure to blend it in well.

 

 

We then added the She gel eye liner to the lid making sure we get a thin line across the top of the lid. Try to get the liner as close to the lash line as possible and you can wing it out if you would like.

 

 

Then we added the Rimmel eye shadow in live show under the eye to add a pop of colour to the eye. (This part of the tutorial is optional.)

 

 

We then added a pink nude colour to the lips because we already have quite a dark eye. It had a pretty shimmer to it, this was to finish off the look. You can then go on to add blush and bronzer if you want. We really like this look and we feel that it is very wearable.

June Favourites

Today we have a favourites blog post for you all, our June favourites. We are sorry we haven’t posted in a while but we have been busy with school and other activities. We have been loving these items all month and we wanted to share them with you, we hope you enjoy J

BEAUTY FAVES

G’s Faves:

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser

 

 

 I really like this moisturiser because it has 3 skin loving nutrients, 2 vital vitamins and no parabens or colour so it is good for sensitive skinned people. The oil balancing part makes it ideal for all skin types as well. I have been really loving this at the moment and my skin feels so soft after I have used it.

Natio Lavender and Rosemary Hand and Nail Cream

 

 I have also really been loving this hand moisturiser. It has Clary-Sage lemon, Geranium, Jojoba, Evening Primrose and Carrot. It smells really nice and it strengthens you nails and moisturises your hands all in one!! 


 

Super Stay 24 Maybelline New York Concealer

 

 This concealer is amazing! I bought it a while ago and didn’t really use it, but recently I have rediscovered it in my makeup bag and fell in love with it again! It goes on really smoothly and gives low/medium coverage for your under eyes and medium coverage for spots on your face. I would highly recommend this concealer because it is cheap and works really well

Burt Bee’s Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil

 

We love this lip balm, it is amazing and it was in our previous favourites post. You can literally feel the difference it makes in your lips by the next day, it is very hydrating and it makes your lips extremely soft.

 

L’s Fave

Entice eye shadow palette

 

 As you can tell this is a very well loved eye shadow palette. It has all the essential colours, dark brown, gold, nude, light peachy pink, and a light brown. It is great for everyday make up and I have been loving this so much

 This natural, nude colour is perfect for your everyday makeup. It smells amazing and it is very creamy which means it goes on really smooth. It is a very pigmented lipstick with a little bit of shimmer

Karpati Night Shock Hair Treatment

Hey Chic Geeks,

This product works wonders on your hair! After trying this for the first time we fell in love with it. It deeply conditions your hair leaving it smooth, soft and shiny. The label describes it as ‘A rich overnight treatment. This exquisite blend of essential oils, vitamins and extracts will absorb into the hair for long lasting nourishment and lustrous shine.’ It doesn’t smell too bad and the smell does travel with you.

 

It says to use it on clean, dry hair but we have tried it on clean wet hair and it works just as fine. You just massage a reasonable amount into your hair or yours ends and either leave it in overnight or alternatively leave it in for 4-6 hours. After you have finished just rinse it out with warm water.

 

 

From experience we don’t like leaving products in our hair overnight because it will transfer to your pillow and that doesn’t feel too good. We instead like to keep it in for 4-6 hours during the day. After using this our hair was a bit greasy the day after but it’s worth it to get the long lasting smoothness and shininess. We have both had comments on our hair after using it, people saying how soft and shiny our hair was.

 

Overall we love this product and we would highly recommend it to anyone who wants smooth, shiny and soft hair. It is an amazing product and we will continue to repurchase this. You can buy it on the westfield website for $16.95, we will list the URL below.

Revlon Colour Burst Review + Swatches

Today we decided to put together this little review for you :)

We both love the Revlon Colourburst lipstick and we especially love this light raspberry shimmery colour, so we decided to do a review on it. The colour is Raspberry in No.045

 

 

 

 

 

This lipstick we have tested will stay on for at least 4 hours doing normal everyday activities such as eating and drinking. The lipstick applies very smoothly and it takes 1-2 coats for you to reach maximum coverage.

One you apply it, the colour looks amazing but after about one hour the glossiness starts to wear off but the colour is still going strong.

Between hours 2-4 the colour doesn’t smudge, the colour does transfer a lot though which isn’t very good if you are going for a look that lasts all night. Although as soon as I started eating and drinking, the colour wore off pretty fast leaving only some lipstick left on the edges of my lips.

 

Overall we think that this product is a great product if you aren’t going out all night. The colour does transfer quite a bit which doesn’t make it suitable for some tasks. After leaving the lipstick on for around 5 minutes I wiped it off and the colour doesn’t stain too badly.

April 2013 Favourites

Hey Chic Geeks,

This month both of us have had our favourites so we decided to share them with you. We will include beauty, food and music related favourites. We have included a different range of products as well so we hope that they appeal to all of you.

BEAUTY:

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion (G&L’s Fave)

This Mascara is both of our everyday mascaras. We both really love how it separates, lengthens and adds volume to our lashes. We would both buy it again and recommend it to anyone.

 

 

Burts Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with pomegranate oil (G&L’s Fave)

 

 

This lip balm is amazing. It hydrates significantly and makes your lips feel super soft. If you use it twice a day, you start notice a difference within a couple of days. Best of all its 100% natural!

 

Clean and Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub (G’s Fave)

 

 

This facial scrub is really great. As you can see we have used it up and we definitely need to buy a new one! The scrub really wakes you up and gives you a refreshed feel. The scrub also makes it amazing, it leaves your skin feeling soft and amazing.

 

Models Prefer Brush: (L’s Fave)

 

 

This brush is a double threat! After using this brush we loved how it picked up makeup so well and we also loved the fun colours. The only downside is that like the MAC brushes, the name does rub off pretty fast.

FOOD:

Yogurtland (G's Fave)

 

Yogurtland is seriously the best! We heard about it from some of our friends so we decided to try it. We both love how they let you choose how much you want of everything and the flavour range is amazing!

Soft Pretzel (L's Fave)

Who doesn’t love soft pretzels? We found a little shop selling them and we just had to try them out and they became a favourite for the month! They are so delicious.

Change You Life by Little Mix (G's Fave)

We have literally been listening so this song on repeat for the whole month! We both love the beat and the lyrics, we both just love Little Mix.

Feel this moment by Pitbull ft. Cristina Aguilera (L’s Fave)

This song is so uplifting and is great to dance to! We have had our fair share of dance breakouts this month!

Glamorous Pink and Brown Eyeshadow Tutorial

We have both decided that we would like to do a makeup tutorial for you. We have chosen to do a pink and brown eye shadow tutorial. Its G’s everyday makeup look for both summer and winter. We both really feel that this look can give anyone a pick me up. We have created a simple step by step tutorial on how to recreate it. I have applied Rimmel Wake me Up Foundation and the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer beforehand. You apply this before or after the tutorial. :)

 

 

 

 To start off, you want to put a primer all over you lid, up to your crease. You then can put a skin coloured eye shadow all over your lid up to your crease. I like to use a colour from the Covergirl Palette in Fard Accent. You can use a matte or a shimmery eye shadow, it doesn’t really matter because we are just creating an even eyelid with no discolouration.

 

 

Next you can apply a light pink/champagne cream eye shadow all over your lid to create a shimmery pink look, I used the warmth of my finger to blend it in. I used one side from the Revlon Colour Stay Smokey Shadow Stick in 201 Torch/Incendiaire. You then apply an eye shadow of the same shimmery light pink/champagne colour on the lid to make the colour brighter, I used a MAC 217 brush and the pink shimmery colour from the Revlon Colourstay Quad in 09 Sterling Rose.

 

Now I got the other side of the Revlon Smokey Shadow stick in a dark brown/matte colour. I then blended it onto the outer corner of the eye with a MAC 217 brush.

 

Next I got a black eyeliner pencil in Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal 061 Jet Black. I lined just under her lash line and blended it out with a sponge brush.

 

 

I then curled her eyelashes and got a mascara from Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion and applied it to the upper lashes. I didn’t apply it to the bottom lashes to stop the smudging. I gently combed through them with a brush.

 

 

 

You can then apply a lip stick or any other makeup product you may like. Then Voila! It’s done! It’s a very simple but glamorous eye shadow! We hope that this tutorial has helped you and this is one of many makeup tutorials we hope to bring you.
